I am glad Nicole is the Frost Queen, but I have a feeling that Disney will flub up with this one. I LOVE these books. I really want them to be well treated!

Great! The BBC version is lacking a bit....
No kidding! The BBC version's Lucy has a serious over bite.

How exciting! I hope it's good, too.

yah - the bbc version's lucy was not at all how i envisioned lucy.
i always get nervous about the disney-fying of favorite stories...
as long as they don't do some weird 'updating' of the story or anything, it might be okay (very wary...)

slightly OT, but who would you like to see cast in this movie and in which roles? Betting fairly unknowns for the children, but what about the rest?

The Passion of the Christ

Dary, I enjoy your posts and respect your opinion but you really need to help me understand why the Matrix trilogy is in that esteemed list and Star Wars is not

How exciting, I really hope disney doesn't flub this up.

DB, it think Darylll's list is the "new crop" of fantasy movies. Everything she listed is pretty current.
The last 2 Star Wars movies kinda sucked. I was leaving them out b/c they do not deserve a hurrah.
DaryLLL, there you go...any opportunity to have to slam the Passion of the Christ... :LOL

Unless you really liked it? I dunno, did ya'?

ITA with you on the two new SW films.

And I loved your list but I haven't seen Passion.

The link isn't working anymore! I am so excited about this movie -- I grew up loving these books, and we owned the BBC versions. (Which are quite hokey.) Disney is not making the movie, BTW, they are distributing it and obviously paying for its promotion. I recently saw a two-page, full-color ad in the NY Times for it.
