What about this name combo?? (I know! another name thread)

We've been searching for middle names for Seraphina (I'm 38w 5d ). We thought we wanted a short middle name with a hard consonant to balance Seraphina out a bit. I love the way Seraphina Eden sounds but I just cannot use it with the meanings behind the names- too religiousy a combo.

Well.. The only thing we can come up with that we both like, is Seraphina Marie. Marie also happens to be a family middle name (like everyone else) including some very close relatives that have passed away. It still doesn't sound "perfect" to us.... but we're scrambling at this point.

Thoughts? suggestions?

My middle name is Marie and I hate it. In fact my name sounds similar to Seraphina (although not as interesting).

I ended up with Marie because my Mom couldn't think of anything better, and she needed something Catholic-y so I could be baptised. But honestly I think it is the most common, boring middle name in the world. There is no magic in Marie.

Sorry .

How about Bianca?

Seraphina:

Leona
Lenora
Lenore

Renae
Eve
Beatrix

Just a few off the top of my head.

Seraphina Renee is really pretty.

Seraphina Michelle
Seraphina Rose
Seraphina Irene
Seraphina Sylvie
Seraphina Alexa
Seraphina Ivy

Edith has a similar sound to Eden, and means "valuable gift." Other E names...

Seraphina Edie
Seraphina Edith

Seraphina Eilwen (Welsh for "fair brow")
Seraphina Eira (Welsh for "snow")
Seraphina Eirwen (Welsh for "golden fair")

Seraphina Elaine (bright one)
Seraphina Elene (")

Seraphina Elise (oath of God)
Seraphina Eliza (oath of God, yeah, but mainly Eliza Bennet )

Seraphina Eloise (very wise)

Seraphina Elvie (friend of the elves)
Seraphina Elvy

Seraphina Elodie (foreign riches)

Seraphina Erene (Gaelic variation of Erin/Ireland)

Seraphina Estella (star)
Seraphina Estrella (child of the stars)
Seraphina Estelle (star)

...and according to my books, Eden means "Pleasantness." I know it's a religious locale , but the name doesn't have to mean that.

What about Seraphina Rae?
I like Rose. Marie doesn't sound quite right. (It's my MN, BTW.) It is a hard name to match a MN to. One of the names I like is Jane, try finding a MN for that!

I knew a Jane Anwyn. (Or maybe it was Jane Arwen...one of the two.)

Im a tidbit biased (obviously) but I seriously think Seraphina Pearl would be gorgeous!

I like the Seraphina Rose myself. I think a single syllable name rolls best with it. You can say Seraphina Rose without losing a beat--and of the single syllable names, I just like it the best.

I really like Eden, Marie not so much. It sounds OK but it is just so common.

What about Arden? Similar to Eden but without the meaning for you?

Seraphina is so pretty! I love it.
I agree with PPs that a one syllable MN flows best with Seraphina. Personally, I also think it sounds better to have a MN start with a consonant if the 1st name ends in a vowel sound. But find a name you love and most of that won't matter!
Some ideas off the top of my head (including ones already mentioned):

Rose
Rae
Pearl
Jane
Mae/May
Lark
Wren
Maud
Blythe
Quinn
Bea
Joy
Kate

Seraphina is very pretty indeed. Problem with Seraphina Rose for me - it is the exact name of Jennifer Garner's youngest daughter...

i love Seraphina Mae- I think a short and simple middle name balances out Seraphina, but still needs to follow it in elegance...Mae does that in my opinion.

I was going to say Seraphina Rose, and then I read the pp's post about Jennifer Garner. Although if your kid is going to share a name with a celebrity's kid, it may as well be hers! Plus, I doubt many people will remember that.

Seraphina also goes well with

Louise
Jane
Adele
Diane

I was going to put in my vote for Seraphina Rose, too! Sounds so pretty and flows so well off the tongue.

What about Seraphina Leigh (or Lee)?

I love the name, and good luck picking a middle (we're in the middle of the Great Name Debate right now, too!).
