Today I got an apology

DH is doing clinical rotation in L&D today and someone wanted their baby boy circumcised. DH had wanted our boys circ'ed but I didn't and in the end he "let me have my way". He was completely stunned as they strapped the poor baby to the board! The baby started crying and DH just couldn't handle it. He had the leave the room. He thought they gently held the babies and made it as easy as possible.

He called and apologized for giving me a hard time. His final words? "If I had know that's what they did, I would NEVER have wanted it."

awesome that he called you and apologized. interesting what he thought it was like, especially compared to the reality. makes me wonder if the parents of that poor baby thought the same thing.

What an awesome hubby you got there and I do believe many parents don't realize it they proably just assume the wee lil one is on a table with a quick clip of the front assuming that what exposes the glans.

That's beautiful. About your husband.

The thought of that poor baby though just makes me freak out

that made me almost cry happy tears! it's sad that it took seeing it firsthand for him to be against it. But I'm sure he'll be so grateful for your sons being intact!

This is why I think anyone considering circ for their son ought to watch one being done (whether live or in a video, provided that no sounds are muted out with the latter).

What a awful way to such a lesson. At least he now knows.

Lesson learned, I guess - the sad way.
