I am wondering about a herb that is good for anxiety and such that wouldn't be harmful if one were to find themselves pregnant. Is there such a thing?

Why a herb? Have you considered vibrational remedies like flower essences? They are completely safe for pregnant women and can be very effective for anxiety.

Well, because I am more familiar with taking herbs. They are more readily available for purchasing in my area - I am very rural. And I had forgot about the Flower Remedies. Thanks for reminding me!

Anyone know about the safety of Valerian?

I am pretty sure it hasn't been studied in the use of pregnancy and breastfeeding.

How is your Vit B & D intake? I would make sure to take magnesium and Omegas, too. I wish I knew more, I'm in the same boat!

I like passionflower. The tincture that I have used is from Wish Garden and is called Stress Relief for pregnancy.

Thirty minutes of moderately hard exercise per day will do a great deal to relieve anxiety.

It's not an herb, but it is safe and does work.

see what you can find online from susun weed or in her book wise woman herbal for the childbearing year. I think she suggests motherwort and skullcap tinctures, but one might be mainly for pospartum. I used skull cap after dd for sleeping and anxiety..it take abot an hour to kick in and is mild but effective at taking adge off. Some people use valerian but it makes me hyper and I don;t know that i'd take it while pg or cosleep depending on how much you have. You can usually write to susun weed as well and ask questions.
