soaker to longies?

Can I use a soaker pattern and pick up around leg openings but instead of knitting just a cuff, knit legs? Will it make the legs go out sideways? I use punk knitter or nature calls pattern and add short rows as needed.

It will work.
They will look more like the Aristocrat longies, which look weird like this, but are fine on a baby.

oh good! thanks for the picture....

I always thought the ltk original soakers would be perfect with legs for longies! I think the crotches in most longie patterns are too narrow. I will try this.
