I'm in zone 4b.
The first weekend in May I planted the cold weather stuff from seed
peas
beets
carrots
leeks
collard
swiss chard
kale
broccoli
potatoes
The only thing sprouting right now is peas (about 1") & potatoes (just starting)
We had a couple of frosts after the seeds went in, then some wet very cool weather for a while. This week is finally sunny & very warm. Maybe they were just waiting for the warmer weather? (even though they were the cool weather stuff ?)
I may have planted the seeds a little too deep - I don't measure the depth when I hoe the rows. Will they not grow at all if they are too deep?
I added fertilizer when planting. I'm sure the seeds themselves are good. No critter or bug or disease issue that is obvious.
I feel like a bit of failure right now on my first garden adventure
When do I give up on them?
