Homemade Popsicle Recipes

Anyone have any favorites?

I just got these and am looking for ideas. Moderately healthy would be nice, but I'm not planning on making these an all the time treat.

I made some today with homemade lemonade and they were much more bland than the lemonade I made them with.

Try some of these:

Healthy Homemade Popsicles (Variety of Flavors)

-= Instructions =-
1. Mango pineapple Popsicle- In a blender puree 1 mango and 1 cup of pineapple. Transfer the puree to a Popsicle container and freeze overnight.

2. Strawberry kiwi Popsicle- Puree 2 kiwi and 2 cups of strawberries in a blender. Put into Popsicle containers and freeze over night.

3. Orange Popsicle- Puree 3 navel oranges and freeze in Popsicle containers overnight.

4. Apple lime Popsicle- Puree 2 cored granny smith apples and 2 skinned limes. Freeze overnight in Popsicle containers.

Each on makes about 3-5 Popsicles depending on how big your containers are. The last recipe tastes like 7-Up.

We just do 100% juice or leftover smoothies.

we like to blend stuff.. we buy on occasion the 'natural' sodas, like bluesky or something similar, and use that ginger ale with orange juice, or lime aid, and raspberry lemonade.
we mix those in various amounts. my favorite really is just the orange and ginger ale. you could probably get the same effect from ginger tea, i'd imagine..
the ginger gives any of it a yummy kick. It's fun to buy raspberry juice or cranberry juice and pair it with something else, too.
I've done some with chocolate rice milk and mint and yogurt too. sometimes it's fun to make a version of the old style pudding pops, and the choco rice milk can get you close. you can use vanilla with orange juice and make a "pushup."

that's all i do. Probably not the healthiest addition but I use frozen limeade concentrate or lemon and it's sooo good. THey love lime pops, i use whole milk yogurt and limeaide. It's good with strawberry too.

I make smoothies every day but DD prefers to eat all her food frozen. I make chocolate pudding pops too, those are really good!

Coconut milk+banana+cocoa powder+honeyor stevia= the YUMMIEST "fudgesicles"

I also like to blend whatever fresh/frozen/canned fruit I have on hand with juice or milk/substitute and add a packet of emergen-C, taste and adjust for sweetness. (peaches work particularly well!)

We also love a cup of strawberries blended with enough water to make run smooth and sweetened.

We make a lot of popsicles in the summer my kids and their friends go right through them!

No kids in my household, but I LOVE popsicles and other frozen things! I do have one question, though. When you puree fruit and freeze it, does it become a rock solid block that is hard to bite? I'd love to make homemade popsicles this summer but want things that aren't basically solid blocks of ice.

Thanks for the link to those little popsicle molds. We use a regular popsicle tray and they are really big. Those little silicone things look like the perfect size.

These all sound delicious!! I keep debating ordering the Zoku Quick Pop maker from Williams Sonoma - saw it in one of there stores last weekend and thought it looked super cool... I'm sure I'll order it here eventually and will totally be looking for yummy popsicle ideas!!

My mom used to combine Jell-O (before it set, of course) and juice. Her popsicles weren't the healthiest, but they were incredible - wonderful taste and texture.

Our family favourite is a frozen cantaloupe and orange juice smoothie (about 1 cup OJ, 1.5-2 cups cantaloupe and 1-1.5 cups of plain yogurt). It's like a creamsicle...only better.

I have popsicle molds but haven't used them for a few years. I can't wait to try some of these ideas on my kids.

I make a lot of frozen pops for my DD...it seems if you use yogurt and bananas, they don't freeze rock solid. Like enough to get out of the molds easily, but still to be able to bite into, yk? I use yogurt, bananas (1-2; the riper the better), maple syrup to sweeten, and some coconut oil if I have it. Blend and freeze. You can also add strawberries or greens or chocolate or anything else you'd like. But I always add the banana & yogurt as a base. Banana helps sweeten, too-you don't need as much maple syrup if you use really ripe ones.
