That was stinkin' awesome!

"Stinkin'" because it involves #2, lol.

DS is 7.5 months now and doesn't signal (either for pees or for poos), so we've been plugging along on timing. Sometimes we go through a string of days where we'll have 3-4 catches a day, and sometimes we'll go through a string of 3-4 days where we don't catch anything. And that's fine.

But anyway, today, it was "time" for him to go potty, so I went and got him and started taking off his dry diaper, and sat him on the BBLP. He did go #1 as expected (but silently this time, so I didn't realize it until after I took him off).

But he also went #2 several times! The noise of it echoed into the potty, lol. He didn't signal at all, and I did get an opportunity to watch him several times. But, I also got the opportunity to cue several times as well. It was exciting and I bet he felt so much better after getting all that out, lol.

Sadly, I did not get to re-use the diaper b/c when I laid him back down on the table, I noticed there was some "pudding" on his bottom, and a bit of it got on the diaper.

Maybe it'll be a few weeks or months before we have another poo catch, but I sure am excited for the one right now.

hope you get more of those catches. We actually do much better with #2 and its great- keeps the baby and the diaper pail much cleaner!

Well, I had another couple of poop catches since then. Not because he was signaling, b/c he still does not signal, but b/c he apparently is learning that I will taken him frequently enough that he can hold it for a pottytunity. And speaking of pottytunities, I actually pottied him twice today, in public (i.e. without our BBLP with its handy sheild), and had a catch both times... AND I DIDN'T EVEN MAKE A MESS! lol. This is a great accomplishment for me, lol.

That's awesome about the public pottying! You mentioned holding it, and I think kids who are EC'ed definitely learn to hold it and wait for pottytunities. Holding it is definitely my daughter's strong suit!

My dd didn't signal at that age, either. She did when she was tiny, then it just stopped! Kind of like she stopped signalling for nursing, and I just knew when she needed to nurse. But I would have rather she kept signalling for the potty!
