I've been fairly homebound for a couple of weeks with hip pain, and a few days ago, I had this huge aha moment. I've started making friends, and I realized that instead of just being totally bored, I could ask them to visit me! I've had several friends over this week, and it's been so much fun, that I'm hoping to try to have one friend over a week at least. The idea that I could invite someone over, and they would want to hang out is so cool, and somewhat new to me. (I know, I know. I had a lot of rejection and no good friends as a teen).
(I also liked that one friend brought a ton of fava beans, which we shelled together while talking. I'm thinking of suggusting we work together on things like shelling peas/beans/sewing/knitting since most of my friends are crafty and cooks. It's fun to have busy hands while we hang out. (she suggusted I could work in their garden, with her, in exchange for some produce too!!)
Anyways, I just wanted to share, because it's really a fun realization.
