So I had tons of blood work done they checked for Lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, my thyroid. All came back fine. Here are my symptoms they seem to be getting worse. I have an appointment to see a neurologist next week . My heart sounded wonky today so I go in next Friday for a Echo.

So for symptoms I have:

joint and muscle pain
muscle weakness
extreme fatigue
sharp pain in my chest on left side also hurts when I exhale on left side
forgetfulness/memory loss
confusion
and now a heart murmur

I feel awful all the time. I just want to feel better. Any have any thoughts suggestions ?

Aside from the heart murmur and with the addition of IBS and depression, I have the same symptoms. I am being tested for lupus, I do already have hypothyroid but the blood work is in the normal range with medication, and we are also looking into celiac disease, sleep apnea, and fibromyalgia/chronic fatigue.

I'm not much help but out of curiosity did your HCp do a full thyroid panel plus thyroid antibodies? Maybe a good idea would be to post your thyroid test numbers?

I am like a broken record... have you been tested for lyme?

Hugs, I am thinking of you.

though I haven't been bit by a tick?
Apparently you can be bitten by a tick and not realize it (the smallest ones might just seem like a little blackhead or something - you might not even notice it).

I was also going to ask about mercury - do you have lots of amalgam fillings or eat tons of fish?
I was going to suggest lyme as well. s:

No I only have 1 filling it is not mercury and we eat fish maybe once a month. We eat a traditional foods diet.

It just seems like no one knows what is wrong. Today the chest pain got pretty bad upon exhaling. All I wanted to do was cry but then it went away.

Pleurisy?? (tthe chest pains.. and if there's an infection it would make you feel like crap...)

It's not MS is it? I have a friend who had weird issues for several years before being diagnosed w/MS. The joint pain and the muscle pain and weakness made me think of her. Have you been tested for that?
If you're in VT, then lyme is a possibility. I was just diagnosed with it (western blot from Igenex) and I don't recall ever being bitten by a tick either.

I have similar symptoms (and also had a full range of blood tests come back totally normal) and we're starting to look at possibilities like fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis. Neither of these (or many of the syndromes like them) have a definitive test, so instead diagnosis is reached in large part by ruling out everything for which there could be a definitive test. It's a bit of a process, unfortunately.

Do you eat a lot of cold and/or raw foods? or have you in the past?
What does your tongue look like and what is your pulse/blood pressure like?

Maybe try a different healing alternative, rather than western medicine? In Chinese medicine terms it sounds like you have a "cold" condition and so those are things they'd check (tongue, pulse) and would need warming herbs to bring down the body's internal temperature. It's a very different way of viewing health but I've had so much success health-wise seeing a traditional chinese medical doctor.

Usually, around here, they don't charge for the consultation, at most I've paid $10.
Just wanted to throw that out there, because I went YEARS literally trying to get a diagnosis for my long list of symptoms and was always told I was 'fine'. I was clearly NOT fine, but with TCM it was all taken care of very quickly

*hugs* and hope you feel better soon!

just an FYI, lupus is hard to diagnosis and sometimes takes people years to get a diagnosis.

Also they are now finding people who have arthritis symptoms (you are describing a lot of symptoms in the family of arthritis i.e. lupus, fibromyalgia etc) actually do not have rheumatoid arthritis but some sort of juvenile arthritis with adult onset. There is over 200 varieties. And again it often does not show up in an blood work as an elevated sed rate.

I really would go see a good rheumotolgist before I saw a neurologist.

I am going with lyme as well.

And FWIW, I believe some of the other illnesses mentioned here are probably sometimes either mistaken for or caused by lyme. I would definitely ask for a lyme test.

Also, its hard to tell about your bloodwork without also seeing the reference ranges.

Have you been tested for Lyme? CT is a prime place for it.

OP:

Just want to offer my sympathy. I am going through something similar (minue the chest pains) with normal blood tests. I regret going to my GP and wish I had gone to a rheumatologist.

I hope you have a supportive doctor. Don't give up.
