VBAC (primary) of Large Baby

Just wanted to put another positive experience on a LGA baby for a primary VBAC...

on 5/14/10 I gave birth, all natural, to an 11 lb 1 oz baby, 21 1/2 inches long...

and there didn't even appear to be any issues with the scar...

labor, from 1st contraction to delivery was 1 1/2 hours.

WAY TO GO MAMA!!! That is wonderful wonderful news! Many congrats! That is such an inspiration!!!!!

If you see this message, was your c-section also for a LGA baby? What was that baby's weight?

And wow...talk about baby being ready...1 1/2 hours! WOWZERS!

Many congrats both on your successful VBAC and your newest addition! YAY!

Details, please!! I'm one day past due, but things are happening and part of me is really hoping for a fast birth, but I'm scared to death.

90 minutes is crazy!! CONGRATS TO YOU, MAMA!!

Congratulations!!! I love hearing big baby stories. Both of mine were 11lb-ers.

Wow. That is reassuring. I am planning a HBAC. My son was 10lb 6 oz. My only concern is another big baby. (if not bigger.) The "I did it." stories are nice.

Congratulations.

My children, except the one born silently, were all LGA babies (9 lbs 2 oz; 10 lbs; 9 lbs 3 oz).

My c/s was 9 lbs 3 oz, but was due to baby turn from but first to transverse, sticking her arm out while I was trying to push her out, and wedging her shoulder in.

There is a link to my birth story in the May 2010 EDD Club, in the Birth Announcement thread. Mind you, I wrote it the night he was born, so it is a bit on the scattered side.

Congrats. It is reassuring to read stories like yours. I am due in October and planning a HBAC. My son was 10 lbs 6 oz and everything thinks I am nuts for trying this. It is good to hear that it is "doable".
