This child wont leave the breast. I have been sitting here nursing him for like 30+ minutes on the same side....and he still wont unlatch and is still actively nursing...

With my first DD, I would nurse for 45minutes at a time for the first few weeks. Some babies are just slower nursers than other. I know it can be frustrating for you. One of the best days of my life was the day I figured out how to nurse while wearing baby in a sling. I had 2 hands free and could walk around. It was so liberating. I felt like a rockstar goddess!!

Good luck!

Some babes are just very "booby minded" I swear. When my DS was born (he's now 16mos) he latched on at about 5mins old and stayed there switching between breasts for 2 hrs! It can be a little aggravating at times when it feels like all you are doing is nursing, but i try to look at it this way: You are the reason your baby is thriving, you provide all that he/she needs by the grace of nature and the miracle of your body. Nursing is one the most wonderful times as a mother. (And I second the nursing with a sling! Such a lifesaver! With 6 kids, one 7days "late" and my 16mo old still nursing, Im looking forward to being able to feed a NB babe and get my laundry folded!)

So glad things are going well for you!

We have had a few 1hr+ feeding sessions too. Usually the next feed is shorter though I'm finding.
