long flowy skirts--where?

i can't find any. mine, that are intended for maternity, are so uncomfortable w/ the big thick bands. they make my belly all mis-shapen. i just want some nice summery skirts w/ small, stretchy waist bands and i can't find them anywhere. anyone have any ideas?

I got a "maxi length" version of this from Old Navy a couple of months ago...seems to have disappeared unfortunately....

This one from Old Navy is past my knees and is really soft with a big roll waist. The material is thin so choose your underwear carefully.

ETA: I reread and realized you want small waist bands, this one is really comfortable and not thick like the ones on maternity clothes.

If you can sew a single seam, the fabric stores all have fabric you can buy with the elastic already at the top. Or if you can sew 2 seams you can choose any fabric you like--- just sew a simple tube, with a selvage edge for the hem, and then make a channel to run your elastic through!

Thank you for that link, mama2toomany! I prefer long flowy skirts..I look the best in them, they are modest and feminine, and I can do all housework and gardening in them...They are also PERFECT for maternity, as they can sit nicely on a HUGE belly, post partum and non-pregnancy..BUT they are terribly difficult to find!

The other links are OK, but the material is more clingy than flowy for my own taste..I'm constantly on the hunt for more peasant skirt types, and they are usually expensive when I do find them.

You might find (if you can do basic sewing, as this is really basic) that this site gives a quick way to make the peasant tiered skirt type-you can make it knee length all the way to ankle or even maxi/floor length:

To me, the most difficult part of making these skirts is finding the appropriate fabric! I like a soft, flowy, no-show through patterned cotton...hard to find!

I have a couple links to modest and some Jewish clothing sites for long skirts, yet they aren't exactly what I like..

Anyway, thanks for that link, and if anyone else has some ideas, please post em!
