Foam? on plants

A co-worker gave me some mint plants, which I planted indoors in containers to keep them from taking over the yard. I noticed when I went to water them the other day, that one of the plants, which seems to be dieing had this wierd foam on it. It looks a bit like soap bubbles, but slimier. What could be causing this? And what can I do about it?

Spittlebug, and probably nothing.

One of my son's favorite things to do lately is remove the glob of spittle and find the culprit making all those bubbles! Try it, it's kinda neat (and they squish easily enough haha)

The best thing to do is remove and squish them by hand.
