Okay, so what's been your "junkiest" gift

Yes, yes, we all try to be gracious and remember that every gift is a gift from the heart, but in the spirit of the junky gift thread, let's spill it - what's the "junkiest" gift you or your LO has received?

I'm going to go with an iridescent pink stuffed poodle (whose tiny little hairs come off in clumps) that came with some kind of web identity where you log on and play in an online world as the poodle. My baby is 6 months old BTW.

Cheap, garbage-y clothes from the dollar store that stink like plastic.

Also from the dollar store: a mom and baby figurine coated in glue then dipped in glittery sand.

I'd rather get a card with a nice sentiment than something just for the sake of giving a gift, ya know?!

a really really ugly stuffed toy entirelly too old for a baby. Oh, and did I mention ugly? I think I'm going to go lose it somewhere.

Stuffed animals, one really ugly red and black dog. ILs mentioned they were buying a gift for a different baby and then thought they should get something for DS too.

Another one that didn't come with tags on it...ew.

Anything noisy...so far, again, all from the ILs.

Winter clothes in dd's current size (given as an easter gift). It's in the high
90s here. And the giver lives here, too, it's not like it's cold where they are and they thought maybe it's cold here, too

A plastic noisy "lawnmower" that sings too -- supposed to be an early walker toy -- received after DD2 was a very capable walker. DH and I despise this toy, and it has ended up in the "donate" pile so often, but our kids keep pulling it out somehow, and there is always some friend that comes over and plays with the silly thing the whole time they're here... ugh, I want it out of my house!

Ooh, and another one -- a random guy at a coffee shop -- gave my oldest DD, age 4, an alarm clock that looked like a taxi cab complete with traffic noises that loudly played every hour. Would have gone straight out the door, except that DD loved it and started crying when we tried to get rid of it. DH finally convinced her it would be fun to see what happened when he smashed the clock with his axe... (sorry, that sounds really violent, DD1 is used to seeing Daddy split wood because we live in the country and heat with a wood stove...)

We received several fluffy, lacy, easter-type dresses in newborn size at her baby shower last year. They're still in the closet, I don't know what to do with them. I'm hoping they were purchased on sale, and people didn't spend good money on them (no gift receipts). Honestly, where was I taking her in those early weeks in such a dress?

My dad gave me 6 huge boxes of pampers swaddlers the day I came home from the hospital with DS

Hmmmm, thats funny dad... bc when you asked what I needed, I told you I needed a breastpump, but that was 'too wierd' for you to buy for me or give me the money to go buy myself.

My mom buys DS junky plastic toys that we have to 'loose' regularly. She knows we are careful about that kind of thing!! Most of the plastics she buys are cheap teether things too, like the worse one was one of those flimsy water filled rings with winney the pooh on it that she found at a dollar store

Nothing really junky or unuseable here, really, though we have returned doubles of things, because, really, our boys don't need two sets of battery operated musical toys. I did return two packages of onesies that FIL bought for them at Easter because he'd bought them the pink ones? I just don't know if he realizes that onesies come in white or blue, since SIL says he did the same thing for her son.

We DO have an awful lot of the stuffed animals that Kohl's sells for $5 - they're HUGE and of course each boy (only 6 months!) needs one of their own. I'm calling around to see if a fire dept might take them, since our Goodwill and the like won't take toys anymore. They're nice, though, we just don't have space.

awww... i totally want one of these lawnmowers for DS. I had a vaccum when I was younger-- one of my fav toys.

A hand knit/crocheted blanket that is too small to do anything with. And I think it was made on those long crochet hooks that are made to simulate knitting, it's too stiff/thick to drape nicely over baby in the car seat.

We have received an inordinate amount of teddy bears. I mean, DS, is, obviously, a boy - and none of the boys I knew growing up collected these sorts of things. They might have one special stuffed toy, but not an armload of the things. Now girls, I can see doing that for. I am 28 and still have a few of the stuffed animals and dolls I had as a kid. In the attic.

some things we have temporarily forestalled. DS's great-aunt wanted to get him a wagon for Christmas. He was a November baby. (what was he going to do with it at 5 weeks old, and where we'd keep it I don't know)

still in the package: Leapfrog dog thing called Scout. nifty idea, but but haven't felt the need for it.

University gear: DH's family are - mostly - big BIG USC Gamecock fans. (his uncle even has collegiate wallpaper!) Neither DH nor I went to USC . . . he has onesies, hats, flip flops, a FOOTBALL (a full sized one), and a mini-football that plays the fight song . . .I think that is all he might have, but I don't doubt there will be more to come!

lol, that's funny. My ds LOVED teddy bears as a toddler. Well, he loved stuffed animals altogether. At one point, around age 2 1/2 there were so many of them in his bed that he couldn't fit. They all had names, and they were all his favorite. Of course, he doesn't now, and would probably not admit to or not remember those days!

Someone gave him a juice box of "Berry Grape Juice Drink" for his birthday. The ingredients go like this: Water, high fructose corn syrup, grape juice from concentrate, other natural flavors, asorbic acid. And my one-year-old needs this...why?

Dh's grandmother got my first two kids lovely oneida flatware for baby/toddler sets with their initials engraved on them. Not sure what happened, but this time around she got a set that said "this product is designed for a collectible gift and is not a toy"... and it also has a MIC sticker on it... She had it engraved, but I'm not sure if it's ok to actually USE or not... and i'm not sure how to find out... which creeps me out. So i think we're going to just go get another oneida set and have it engraved for Avery.

I don't think you can get too annoyed at that. Most people truly don't go out of their way to buy you things you hate. I'm sure he was trying to be helpful. I can't even imagine asking my dad for a breastpump.

I have to go with a dollar store stuffed teddy bear that DH's grandmother gave to our daughter for Halloween when she was 20 months old. It stank; the fur came out in clumps; it was stuffed with what felt like sawdust and it looked like it had been designed to traffic heroin or something. I discovered all of these flaws in about five minutes. I threw it away when we came home.

I'd have to go with the dress that my FIL got for my son that was covered with the logo for FIL's favorite sports team. FIL was soooooo proud of that "shirt".

The worst part was that MIL tried to tell him it was a dress but he refused to believe her.
