too old?

Hi,
Is 6 years old too old for separation irritation? My 6 year old has redness and swelling in the middle of his penis. I had a different child experience something similar at the age of almost 4.
Thanks in advance

Nope. Everybody developes on their own schedule. It can take till puberty is well underway before some boys separate.

Thanks for the reply. It looks exactly like my 4 year old's did, so I won't worry!

Sometimes separation irritation never happens. My older DS who is now 8 was able to retract around 5 and he never experienced any type of irritation. My 3.5 year old did about a year ago and now balloons when he pees but still isn't retractable. Every boy is different.
