early morning gas and poop

My DD is 7 months old, and we've been doing BLW solids for about a month now. Mostly sweet potato, carrots, pears, apples, cukes and very little banana.

About 2 weeks before we started the solids, her poops had changed from about once a day to upwards of 7 times a day. And most of the poops were actually just squirts. We chalked it up to either my diet (we were on vacation and I was eating, well, crap) and/or teething.

Since then I've eliminated all dairy (even trace amounts) and she is still pooping like that. She poops at least 4 - 5 times day, 2 of which are in the wee hours of the morning (between 2 and 6AM). Also, during those hours she is pretty gassy. She gets restless, wriggles, lets out some farts, maybe a poop, then she's falls immediately asleep. Of course, if she pooped I now have to change her diaper which usually wakes her a bit.

The pooping during the day is fine. It's the early morning stuff that is really interfering with our sleep. I'd like to start doing NCSS but I can't do it if she is that uncomfortable.

Besides the dairy, what else can it be? We're giving her a variety of solid foods, so I don't think that's it. Besides, the pooping/gas started before we did solids. I'm considering eliminating chocolate because I heard that can cause gas. Or maybe I should eliminate wheat.

She is happy all day long but the early morning gas definitely gets to her. Anyone have any ideas? TIA!

my ds is 3 days older then your dd. i have noticed with teething looser & more frequent poops. i also recently stopped eating dairy (due to eczema) so i don't eat chocolate or anything with dairy in it. ds was only pooping once a day until (i believe due to the teething drool) a few weeks ago. some days it's 4-5x. only once or twice in the middle of the night. he does eat a little solids now and then. do you eat spicy foods? my ds has looser & more frequent poops when i eat fried foods or tomato sauce. good luck with your dd.
