summer wrap

I'm looking for a woven wrap that would be fairly cool for hot weather but supportive for a heavy baby.
I've read about a couple wraps that are gauzy and cool but they cut into your shoulders and are kind of uncomfortable.

How does the Gypsymama Bali Stretch wraps rate as far as support for a heavy baby and coolness in the summer?
I really love the Girasol wrap colors and how soft it sounds but would it be too hot?

Thanks for any suggestions!

I am planning to go for single-layer carries with supportive wraps for summer wearing I figure I'll be hot even with a thin wrap, so I might as well wear what's comfortable for my shoulders with my toddler and just keep the amount of wrap around both of us to a minimum.

I know the Bali Stretch wraps are less stretchy than a Moby or similar wraps, but I'm not sure I'd be comfortable using it with a heavy baby. Then again I'm just not a stretchy wrap girl, period.

BBSlens are supportive but thin, Vatanais are thin too but I haven't tried one myself. I have a Girasol on the way too, but it's been a while since I've felt one in person. I think it'd probably be okay, but they are known for being snuggly, cozy, a little on the thicker side. How big is your heavy baby? Giras are not known for being the most supportive with the really heavy babes, but the colors are just gorgeous.

Didymos wraps can be pricey but they are my absolute favorite, and there's a ton of variety in terms of supportiveness and thickness in the wraps they make. Goldfish with linen and my thin hemp indio will see a lot of use in the summer. Natibaby linen butterflies will get used a lot too.

I stopped using my Gypsy Mama BBS when DS hit about 18 lbs. We've been using wovens ever since. For keeping cool I use a double-thickness cotton gauze wrap that I made myself, a short wrap, or a mei tai.

DD is 19 pounds now and 6 months. The Moby is wonderful, she loves it and I like being able to just move around without even thinking about her falling out like in the Maya wrap.
I love using the Maya wrap for quick in and out at the store and for shorter walks and stuff and it is not too hot but really need more support for anything longer. I have a mei tai that someone gave me to try out and it felt great but when I tried to take a short walk, she kept sliding down and it got uncomfortable. I kept tightening it and I'm not sure how I could get it any tighter. That would be good in the summer if i could get it to work for me.

So is it the thickness of the wrap that makes the difference between cutting into your shoulders more?

I like the didymos colors too!

The thickness does matter, but it's more complicated than that. There are lots of thin wraps that are really comfortable too. Some of it depends on how carefully you wrap to avoid pressure points, but it mostly depends on the specific wrap/weave. So some brands are definitely better than others. You've already gotten a lot of great recommendations. The only one I would add is a Hoppediz Light wrap.

I love my Gypsymama Bali Breeze! I have already worn it in 90+ degree heat and it is totally breathable. It was a kinda rough at the beginning, but a few runs in the dryer after a vigorous hand washing broke it in nicely.
