Need Help Getting Ink Out of a Shirt!

My DH supposedly cleaned out the pockets of his ACUs (army uniforms) and then put them in a pile for me to wash... of course the one time I don't double check the pockets he leaves a pen in them it leaked!!! Thankfully it only got on the shirt the he left it in but I really need to get the ink out if I can. Any tips or things to try?

I found that hairspray works on already washed pen ink, but it depends on how much ink there is.

What do you do with the hairspray?

Folex carpet cleaner gets ink out of carpet. I used it once on a shirt of DD's to get out lipstick and it worked. Might be worth a try.

I just spray till it's soaked, let sit for a few mins and then wash/rewash. 9 outta 10 times it works.

I'm guessing it's the alcohol in it so plain alcohol might work too.

So if I rubbed some rubbing alcohol on it would that work? We don't have hairspray... he can't wear the uniform top with ink stains so I am willing to try anything to get it out...
