Help with names

I think we've found some names we like.

Our son's name is Cain Flash. (Not after the superhero. Flash is my FIL first name.)

This baby's gender is a surprise.

Girl name is Lucca. It's subject to change but honestly we cannot find a single girl name we like besides this one.
We need help for a middle name. So far we've tried and tried but cannot come up any ideas.

Boy possibilities: Odin, Dante, Leo, Cyrus, Viktor

Leo is starting to look less likely. DH wants the full name to be Leonidas. I'm not as convinced but I do like Leo. So far he's shot down other variations of Leo that I've come up with.

Cyrus is becoming quite popular in our area so that turns me off to it but I think DH is still pretty fond of it.

I like both Odin and Dante but I'm unsure about their popularity right now and I figured I would see what others had to say about them.

DH really loves Viktor but for some reason I can't picture a 'baby Viktor'. I could be convinced though because I do think it's a good name. I prefer spelling it 'Victor' but DH is dead set on the K.

So what are everyone's thoughts on all of these? Like them? Hate them? Any negative associations with any of them that people may make?

I'm also open to brand new suggestions. We're pretty desperate for some original ideas. We don't like popular names but we don't want something too difficult to pronounce.

We did like Raine/Rayne for a girl but it rhymes with our son's name so that's a no go. Dh said he could totally be okay with it but I just cannot fathom having kids with rhyming names. Too confusing.

A friend of mine named his son Cyrus (but spelled Sirrus). I thought it was a really cute name, but with the popularity of Miley Cyrus I probably wouldn't do it...at least not with that spelling.
I agree Victor with a "c" but you're right it's a strong baby name. Do you want him to be called Vic? Vic makes me think of Vic Damone...the creepy guy from Fast Times at Ridgemont High! haha
We are in the Southwest and I haven't heard anyone by the name of Odin or Dante, so I don't think those are very popular.
Boys names are hard; we are struggling with those too!

Leonidas = "Mmm, Belgian chocolates!" to me. Not a bad thing, and Leo is cute and can definitely grow with him.

I think I like Odin for a different name that's not hard to say or use. Could possibly be confused with Otis, but there are not many names of that sort. I suppose "Odie" could be a nickname, which may not be favorable (unless you like Garfield!). I have never heard Odin used, though Dante is not unheard of (not at all popular, tho).

Random ideas for girls' middle names...

Lucca Ambrosia
Lucca Ivy
Lucca Gail
Lucca Paige
Lucca Violet
Lucca Marie
Lucca Miriam
Lucca Sage
Lucca Faith

I am not usually a fan of "Marie", but I think Lucca Marie sounds very nice! Good suggestion!

How about Lucca Raine?

I have seen the name Lucabella for a girl which I thought was cute. Very Italian though, not sure what your take is on that. Viktor is fine, but I prefer Victor. With a K it looks very eastern European to me.

I always think of Anchorman (silly Will Farrell movie) when I hear Odin-"Great Odin's Raven!"
I like Viktor with a k.

I love Lucca Raine.

Odin, Dante, Leo, Cyrus, Viktor:

Odin to me sounds too trendy (Aidan and company), but also sounds like Odor.

Dante is a nice name, and I think it sound good with Cain.

Leo is also nice...though I don't like your dh's long version.

Cyrus...you say this is getting popular, but what does that mean? I'm guessing if you look at naming frequency, there are actually very few Cyruses around. I like this name a lot. The sounds of it are very different than most popular boys names (yn/in/an), but it's known, it's solid, and it sounds good.

Viktor...I love this name. I grew up with a Victor and he was a really interesting, artistic, smart guy. It's actually pretty charming on a kid. I also like it because it's not in the Aidan family, but it's very well known...one of those rare uncommon/common names with strong chracter.

Why on earth did we not think of that? I swear we've been name hunting so long that our brains are mush now. This is actually perfect...I really like it. I'll run it by DH tonight.

We have a few acquaintances with new babies who are all named variations of Cyrus so I think that's why I think it's become popular.

I didn't even think of Odin sounding trendy but now that you've pointed it out I wholeheartedly agree.

Lucca Raine seems like the winner for a girl. I think DH would be all for that.

For the posters who liked Lucca Marie, that's funny, Marie is MY middle name. This might sound odd but I don't like the idea of naming a baby after me or sharing a name with me or my husband. It's sweet but...just not for us. It really does sound good though...maybe I'll think on it.

Thank you everyone. This is really helping.

This will forever be what I associate that name with now.

Are there any family names or ones that have personal meaning you can use for middle names? I'm always in favor of that over a name that "sounds good."

That said, how are you pronouncing Lucca? My guess would be "Luck-a" since I've only ever heard it pronounced Luke-a when spelled Luca/Luka.

Luke-a

The extra c is in there because my geek husband originally got the name from Chrono Trigger. (Video game)

I've seen a few versions with two c's but not many and most come from Italian parents. So just another version of Luca/Luka. I believe Lucca is also a city in Italy.

I've tried coming up with middle names that are meaningful or after people who are important to us but so far DH hasn't been on board with any of them.
