Well, we've reached it too. The child that was mostly happy to go along with what I asked has decided to either do opposite what I ask, ignore me, just shout 'nooo', anything and everything. Timing couldnt be worse since I'm at 36 weeks and also have an 18 month old. In addition to this, there has been a lot of 'not understanding'. Best example I have is this: "We are going (somewhere), please go get your shoes." "Shoes?" She seems to genuinely suddenly not know the word (at 3.5). Happens with all sort of common objects. Is this just wandering attention?

I don't think his behavior is out of line for his age (and particularly in the situation of having a new sibling on the way so soon), and therefore I don't think you'll have much luck changing it, but you do have too much to deal with.
