I feel so sick, plz help me....I relly cut down on sugar yesterday, and since last night I've felt so awfully unwell...hot flashes, sweating, nauseaous, neck pain, and worst of all is the terrible terrible constant headache

I've been taking tylenol but it hasn't helped.

I can't function like this hardly at all, so I had a candy bar first thing this morning....but it hasn't helped so far. What should I do? is there anything I can do that will help? I really don't want to eat anymore candy, 1 bar was bad enough when im trying to cut down/cut it out but....oh gosh I think im going to vomit.

A coincidence maybe? Could you just be sick or have food poisoning? I know detoxing can be bad, but it seems a bit extreme what you're describing, especially cause you're not even completely sugar free yet.

With the neck pain and other symptoms, maybe a chiro could help you feel better tomorrow?

Sorry you feel crummy.

Thanks, yeah I expected the headache but not the other symptoms. Could it be because I was out in the sun for a while yesterday and it was really hot out?

I got some more sleep and my head is a bit better now, but the sickness feeling still comes and goes. I haven't eaten anything weird, and had the same dinner as dd last night, and she's totally fine.

It could be you're a bit dehydrated - maybe you cut back on sugary drinks and didn't replace with others? But either way, if it's hot out you could be dehydrated from that.

you didn't switch out sugar for sugar substitutes (like splenda, aspartame, etc) right?

I definitly get that sick from too much sun/dehydration.

Or could it be a migrain? Sounds like another possibility. Messing around with my diet can trigger migrains for me.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks ladies, I guess it must have been due to the weather...sounds a bit dramatic but Im not used to the heat and was out in it quite a lot yesterday, caught the sun on my skin too it's red in places.

I have been slowly drinking water all day, I find it hard to drink water compared to sugary drinks...so could be that I wasn't drinking enough too.

And I slept for a few hours during the day which has helped my head.

Hope you're feeling better! I get that way in the heat sometimes- this past weekend, I wasn't able to sleep much at ALL, and then sunday, it was 95 here and we were out in the sun most of the day. Of course, I forgot the sunscreen and got a bit of a sunburn on my shoulders. Combination of lack of sleep and too much heat, and I was just trashed yesterday. Spent most of the day sleeping.

Drink your water and get some extra rest.

(Edited to add that I have a hard time drinking straight water too- it makes my acid reflux flare like nobody's business. It helps me if the water is really, REALLY cold.)

I was gonna suggest loading it up with ice and maybe a splash of lemon juice (or lime juice). I like seltzer with a splash of juice in it, too... it's somewhat more interesting than plain old water, but still isn't as sugary as juice or soda. You could also try herbal iced teas... at least there's some flavor in it then, but still no sugar. peppermint tea is nice when it's hot...

A great tip for getting more water into you - everytime you go to the bathroom have a glass of water. I have a mug that I keep next to the handbasin. It's great because you drink more, so you use the toilet more and then you drink more etc etc. I find it easy to just knock back a glass of water when I use the toilet than worrying about remembering to drink and forcing water down my throat all day.
