If you swaddle...

How long is your baby swaddled for (like in a single day)??? (include how old they are! lol)...

DS2 is a month old and we just started to swaddle a few days ago - OMG ...what a difference! ... But he is swaddled for like most of the day! lol (is that normal?... Guess at this age he is sleeping for most of the day...or trying to anyhow!)

I once read about certain cultures (like in Mongolia for example) where babies are swaddled completly for the first few months of life... I used to think that was odd... lol...

Up to 3 months both of mine liked to be swaddled the majority of the day. I swaddled dd for sleep until about 9 months!

My three month old probably spends in the ball park of 14 hours a day swaddled, but that's because whenever he's sleeping (or I'm trying to get him to sleep), he's swaddled.

at two months, ds was swaddled for every time he was asleep,whenever he would get fussy, almost every feeding (he startled easily and would get distracted) and usually when other people held him (to keep him feeling safe in case he didnt know them.) so pretty often!

we didnt swaddle him when we were playing/cuddling/relaxing, or in the carseat - although, even though its horribly dangerous, i have swaddled him in the car seat when i was desperate

Cecilia is swaddled a lot! Currently I'm NAK and she's swaddled. I swaddle her for every feeding and that carries over to every nap/bedtime since she almost exclusively nurses to sleep. If I leave her unswaddled for nursing, she constantly breaks her latch with her crazy hands, and the same hands wake her up if I leave her unswaddled for sleep.

She's now 7 weeks old (today!) and has a good hour or so of quiet alert time between each feeding and nap, and those are her unswaddled times. Previously, she'd be swaddled almost constantly! Also, as a side note, the non-stretchy, flannel Swaddleme blankets are the best thing ever! Miss Houdini Hands (Hand-dini?) can't get her hands out the neck to cause mischief like she can with the stretchy kind!

Hamish does this as well! - I have just started to keep him swaddled for feedings and its so much better! - And easier to hold him as well as hes like a log then instead of this floppy squishy thing I feel like neither of us can get in a comfortable position! lol

Its so great to know that these things are pretty darn normal!
