Big steps for my Aspie!

Max is 10. He has sensory processing disorder as well as Aspergers. He ONLY wears jeans and he ALWAYS wears a zip-up hoodie. At school, he puts the hood over his head when he's feeling overwhelmed.

Today he chose to wear shorts.
Today he chose not to wear his hoodie.
Today he requested a long sleeve shirt w/ a snug fit. (Have to find one.)
Yesterday he really got into the food fight we had.

This is huge for him. I am proud of him and nervous at the same time!

Yeah!!! I still remember the summer my SPD kiddo changed willingly from pants to shorts and back again based on the temperature outside. Such a small thing, and yet such a huge step for him!

Well, he's back to jeans & his hoodie, even in 85 degrees. But he's happy.

He did very well on the day of shorts & no hoodie! I was pleased.

Today he went swimming in the little pool we have! He wore a shirt for awhile then he took it off.

I hope his summer goes smoothly. I'm a little nervous, but I'm going to focus on the positives right now!
