Washing Machine Shopping

Thread Starter
We are shopping for a new washer (and maybe dryer). I'm looking at Electrolux, Samsung, or LG - all front-loading. I'm going to be washing diapers again and our current washer did a horrible job getting diapers clean. I want something quiet (ours - a Kenmore HE4T - sounds like the train is coming through the house, and it is right between the kitchen and den). I'm curious about the idea of steam in the washer for sanitizing. And I want something that will clean our clothes (and eventually diapers). So ... any recommendations? Anyone with an Electrolux, LG or Samsung that wishes to share?

Hello,
I have an LG front-loading steam washer and dryer. I love them. In addition to the steam cycles it also has a sanitary/sanitizing cycle. I use that more than the steam. I'm not doing diapers right now, but I do wash each dd's panties separately in a sanitizing cycle each week to 10 days. It has 2 separate steam cycles: steamfresh and allergiene. Or you can add the steam feature to any of the other regular cycles. It is also a quiet spinner... unless the load is unbalanced, lol, then it can sometimes sound like a helicopter is landing! Careful loading can usually prevent this. It's interesting that you say your kenmore h4something or other spins loudly because both my brother and my neighbor have that one and they both say how loud of a spinner it is. Anyway, the dryer has steam, too, but I haven't personally used it yet. (We got the machines this past December.) My sil, however, has the exact same dryer and uses the steam function for freshening up my niece's work uniform and loves it.
