I have only watched one episode but was a big SFU fan along with most other HBO. We just finished Mad Men and were looking for a new series to start....

I think I"m hooked......I'm excited that it's been renewed through season 4 alreayd so I know we won't be let down if we do get into it! I hate it when that happens (a la Carnivale)

anyway keeping track of it all here....excited to be caught up!

I loved it! It is so very different from her books... I don't really know if I read more than the first couple, but I remember thinking all through the first season how off it was. And not like the usual not as good as the book feeling I get with most book to season/movie experiences. Just so randomly different!

AWSOME AWSOME AWSOME!!!!!

Funny how the weeks will seem to go by SOOO SLOW now that I have to wait for new epis of true blood. I LOVE THIS DAMN SHOW. Layfette, FREAKING RIOT! Have always loved him! When it was up in the air at the end of season 1 if he was dead, I about cried.

This epi was like a big teaser of whats to come. New vamps, warewolves, etc.

Anyone else here a Big Love fan? The magistrate? EWWWWWW! Guy creeps me OUT.

LOVE PAM btw, HATE the queen. Wonder how old she is that she is the queen and is so much stronger then Eric.

I hate the queen too. I love lafayette! I felt the same way at the end of the 1st season
I think they said in season 2 the queen is 2000.

Agree about Pam. She's awesome.

Hate the queen too. If you read all the books, I think you would agree that the TV version is wrong. The casting is soooo off. It's kind of weird because Alan Ball got so much else right. Even the characters that aren't in the books, like Jessica, totally work. But the queen, ugh!

My fave line was when Sookie was walking down the stairs and says, "Holy, a$$!" in reference to Eric's derriere!

I agree that the casting is off with almost everyone, especially Eric. I think Bill is pretty spot on though.

I almost think that you have to view the books and the t.v. shows as two entirely different entities, they are so very, very different.

Summertime, you think ERIC'S casting is off? Wow, I think him and Sookie are casted perfectly! Eric is tall, blonde, gorgeous, and an amazing actor! He can give the "look" and do the smirk perfectly, IMO. Bill and Pam are a close second for me.

But, yeah, it's amazing how different the show is from the books. It actually makes me look forward to watching it because I really don't know how it's going to end or what's coming next. DW hasn't read the books and asked me so many questions about Marianne (and that story line) in season two. I could only barely answer the basic questions because the plot and story were so different.

I just started reading the books and I really like that they are so different. It is like double the fun because I enjoy both. Can't wait for Sunday!
