Storing your homemade baby oatmeal

If you make your own baby cereal, do you make it and then just store it in a container in the fridge?

For myself, I wouldn't premake oatmeal...but it seems odd to make such a small amount every single day (she'd only eat a very small amount of it, especially if I mush it with some fruit). And it seems like such a bother to wash the pot each day for such a small little amount of food.

I plan to grind steel cut oats to a powder and add to boiling water. Maybe this can be microwaved right in the bowl I feed her from? Anyone have experience with this?

Well I make my son emmer cereal and I freeze it in little reused baby food containers(plastic), but you could make it and freeze it in ice cube trays and put them in a ziploc baggie, then pull out a cube as needed. I've done that with other baby foods and it works well.

Yeah, I guess I'll try that. That's actually what I've been doing with her other food...but oatmeal just seemed like it wouldn't do well for some reason. I can't say exactly why not, but it's pretty cheap, so I suppose I'll just make a batch and try it.

Thanks!
