Ok, sorry for the graphic title. I'll change it if anyone objects. Anyhoo, I've run to the toilet with terrible nausea a few times this pregnancy but I haven't "done the deed." I'm curious if pg nausea is the same as regular nausea. Do you feel better after puking or do you just go back to feeling lousy? I'm wondering if I'd feel better if I just let it happen instead of trying to stifle it.

With this baby I feel better right away... and early on, although it wouldnt last, it would last about 20 minutes before I would start to feel sick again. Enough to get down some liquids or some food.
With my son, it never got better even if I got sick... with my daughter I would get sick and be fine the rest of the day pretty much.

I'm going to have to go with "it depends,"
This pregnancy it seems like if I throw up in the morning (the yucky nothing on stomach throw up) I feel better afterward and can just go about my day.
If I throw up in the evening when I've actually eaten something, it's a whole different story.

I usually feel the most nauseated after I've eaten. I guess my body is rejecting a lot of my food choices. I have a hard time eating anything at all, and there are only two foods that I know will make me feel better. Maybe if I throw up I'll be over my food aversions for a short while? Long enough to eat something besides chicken and miso soup, hopefully.

For about 10 minutes and then the waves start up again. It's worse if I try to eat or drink anything.I'm at 22 weeks and still need lots of medications to spend more time off the bathroom floor or eat more than a packet of ramen noodles a day. This pregnancy has been the hardest especially since my last was such a breeze.

Yes! I feel worn out but then I settle down and can eat and drive to work and not feel so gross. I once threw up in the bathroom at a coffee shop and went right out and ordered up my breakfast
. Right now is bad since I'm feeling better, so no actual vomiting, which means the quease can get me anytime! I could count on brushing my teeth and getting in the shower to set me off (I always cough up a little phlem in the AM once the steamy shower gets going), and then feel pretty good!

I do seem to get relief from throwing up. Of course, if it's just stomach acid, that's coupled with a burning throat and awful taste, but, erm, yeah. In general, I will try to resist getting sick as long as I can. If I feel really super sick and miserable, though, it's better to get it over with.

yes. for an hour or 2. Last night hubby was going to taco bell, because i was too sick to cook anything, or think about food. He came back in the house to ask me if i wanted anything. I told him, i should just go puke, and get it over with. I did, and then i was able to eat the bean burrito he bought me. and it stayed down. the nausea returned about an hour later, but not as bad as it was before, and i was able to just go to bed.
This is how it goes 99% of the time for me. I just have to do it. I dont have to induce vomiting though, i just have to stop fighting it. I am trying to realize that if i fight it, i feel crappy, and as much as i hate throwing up, it is not the worst thing in the world, and only last a few minutes, and then i feel better for over an hour, so the payback is worth it.
I hope you feel better soon.
