What does a OPK test result look like AFTER ovulation?

I tried one out of curiosity to see if I'd ovulated yesterday - i know, i know, not what they are used for..... But does anyone know what happens to LH after o? does it drop off immediately? taper off? i had 2 lines, with the test line lighter than the reference. Does that (definitely) mean I have yet to have the surge?

thanks

Hi Urban, I'm not sure about others, but here is what happened to me. I had lighter lines up until I got the positive, then lighter lines after. I took one today at cd 28 just for kicks and got almost no line. I got a faint positive on cd 20, on cd 21 and 22 it was a dark positive, and cd 23 was back to light positive. Fertility friend puts me ovulating on cd 20 based on temps. Do you chart your temps too?

I'd suggest taking a few more days of the opks to see if the line gets darker or lighter.

there's no way to tell from that alone. because we always have lh circulating, in more or less amts and even in the luteal phase, an opk will pretty much always show a second line. that's why it has to be at least as dark as the control to be a positive to show a surge. it can even be almost positive, and not mean anything, although lots of women do fade in and fade out.
