Thanks everyone. I'm still a bit in shock & sleep deprived, but am working on getting to know my kid. He's been an adorable little grumblecakes so far-- I think he's dealing with a lot of sensory overload. I'm hoping today goes smoothly--I'd like for him to be happy.

Em, yes, was right re: ultrasound. Blasted tech. Oh well, it did give me a chance to get used to having a boy, which is a little mind-bendy for me in ways that having a girl wouldn't be. Still, I had wanted to be surprised. I didn't even check the sex for the first 30 minutes. I bonded and soothed and sang a song and told a story first.

Robina, our midwife was amazing. It was hugely helpful for me to have her support. We talked about you a little in the morning before she left (she was here for 10 hours).

oh, i love that you told a story!! i am really eager to hear more of your thoughts about the experience though it took me three weeks to finish my birth story so i know how hard it can be to get up the wherewithal to write.

and yay for our wonderful midwife! i'll admit i am curious to know what you guys talked about! i love that she hangs out for such a long while afterwards.
