I also had similar reactions to tetanus vaccines. FWIW my grandmother did as well- I think it can have a genetic component (as far as being sensitive to them) Be aware that other vaccines have tetanus toxoid in them- prevnar maybe? been too long since I researched it.

My grandmother is deathly allergic to the tetnus vaccine as has been told by doctors to never get another tetnus vaccine. My DS1 had one shot of DTaP at 7months and had a lump in his leg that lasted 6+ weeks. We never went back for another shot as I figured any reaction would just get worse.
