I'm the only one who can put him to sleep

Tell me I'm not the only one.

He nurses to sleep and for evey wake up and for every nap.
He's 17 months old. We are leaning towards CLW. When will he be better about taking comfort from DH (he's the fun guy)? I don't mind it most of the time...just when I'm told that I've done my son a disservice by always being the one to put him to sleep and always nursing him to sleep

Once we night weaned DD DH could put her to bed. I night weaned and then we started laying down with her together. Now we usually both put her to bed, but DH can and his mom has before too. It really does get better!

You are not the only one! DD is 12mo and will only sleep attached to my boob...needless to say, dh cannot help out in that department!
DD will allow dh to bounce her to sleep in the ergo at bedtime, but upon waking (which can be anywhere from 20mins to 2 hours) she needs my boob in her mouth immediately if not sooner! I cannot go out in the evenings because we never know when she will wake and need me. Throughout the night she is nursing so I am stuck. I do get jealous of my friends who can put their lo's to bed and then go out. I even have friends who can go over night. I am just riding it out. It is tough being the only one to get them to sleep BUT ds who is now 3 will go to bed easily for dh....this is very recent and you know what?? I am so sad when he goes to bed with daddy and doesn't even ask to say goodnight to me. One day, we will miss it

Yep, my 16 month old will only go to sleep with me (either while nursing or shortly after nursing). Mind you, I'm a single parent, so I don't have a choice about the matter anyway!

As an example, last Friday I went out with some friends and my dad babysat, I didn't get home until 11:30pm - and he was STILL awake! He had only started getting upset the last 10 minutes after I'd texted my dad to say I was on my way home. My dad had tried taking him for a stroller walk and also rocking with him in a dark room, but no luck!

This is me, EXACTLY!!!!

99% of the time I am the one to put DS (9.5mos) to bed by nursing. Occasionally, when the stars align just right, DH can rock/pat baby to sleep.

Nice to know there are others out there "like me."

My DH and I just had a battle over this exact thing. My 16 month old DS falls to sleep nursing. My DH can not get him to sleep without my son screaming himself to sleep I have to get my son to learn how to fall asleep without me before October when my new LO arrives. I would love some advice too. I'm going to try nursing earlier in the evening and then rocking to sleep. Hopefully then DH can try to rock to sleep. But who knows if this will work! My nanny can get him to sleep during the day for naps but it's a 30 minute "bore him to sleep" procedure.
