Do any of you have any good reccomendations of books about special needs kids. I recently read Chicken soup for the soul: Special needs children, and A different kind of perfect. I loved both of them! Have you read anything else good?

Well, I think that depends. It seems like the books that are most helpful are the most specific to a certain type of special needs. What type of book are you looking for? There are some wonderful memoirs about raising SN kids; there are great "how to" books about various disabilities; there are lots of amazing blogs about people's day to day lives.

Can you be more specific?

ETA: I saw that you posted elsewhere that your little one has hearing loss. I'm sorry I don't know of any good books on that specifically.

I have some deaf kid book recommendations, if that would help.

"Raising and Educating a Deaf Child"

http://www.amazon.com/Raising-Educat...4976592&sr=8-3

and

"Choices in Deafness"

http://www.amazon.com/Choices-Deafne...4976961&sr=8-1

They are both MUST reads for a parent of a deaf child. Also, if you are interested in Deaf culture and history (if you decide you want your child to be a part of the Deaf community) I have some good book choices for that as well.

Are you watching the "Signing Time" videos? That is a nice quick way to learn some basic signs to use with your baby.

Currently I'm reading Love and Logic (I like the concept so I'll probably get the copy for special needs kids) and I also took "the Out of sync child" which deals with children with sensory issues.
