We did.

Do you mean like they had a commercial? Or more like they were featured on TV, like on a travel show?
I plan on eating at Heston Blumenthal's restaurants after seeing him on TV. My husband and I were going to go to a restaurant that was on Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, but it had changed ownership since the show and decided not to. So, sort of.

Dh had a conference in NYC many years ago at Columbia University. We stayed just a few blocks away from "THE" diner in Seinfeld, as seen externally. We had coffee and pie there just because it was on Seinfeld. We were disappointed that the inside was completely different than what was filmed (the interior must have been a set). Just the outside was the same.

Yes, ditto for something I've read in the paper or an ad I've seen.

We have TV Diner in New England, which is on a local news channel, and when we can afford to, we like going to the places they feature.

No, but I would! Every time we watch food network or something, I want to eat everyplace nearby!

I ate at Mickey's Diner in Minneapolis just because we were in the nieghborhood and the diner had been in movies and on TV. The service wasn't very friendly and it took over an hour to get pancakes even though the restaurant (which is teeny-tiny) wasn't full or crowded. The pancakes were SO good. Later I saw the diner on an episode of American Justice, it was the last place a young woman ate before she met her tragic demise. That made me sad.

I have gone to 'the Brick' tavern and the Roslyn Cafe in Roslyn, WA just because they used to be in the show Northern Exposure.

Yep-just 2 days ago. We ate at a local fish place because we saw it on Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins and Dives. It was yummy and definitley a dive!

I want to know where you ate. Was it some classy local joint, or did you go get a double down at KFC? Because if it was the latter, I judge you for that.

It was one of the places on the Diner Drive Ins and Dives show, YJ's Snack Bar.

I probably wouldn't have been excited about finding a local spudnuts without first having seen it on tv (and have picked up donuts there several times since) - can't wait to travel to portland someday and get some at voodoo donuts, though.

We once went to chili's because we felt inundated by their commercials, but instead it was terribly disappointing. Never went back since.

No, but we know LOTS of people do!!!

Our favorite diner, which we have been going to since it opened since it is two miles from our house, was featured on some TV show. A bunch of online friends from a BB, where we knew each other's names and shared personal info, asked me if that was "our diner" and told me why, etc. Oh yeah, for two freaking YEARS "our diner" was so packed we could hardly step foot in the place. When we did muster up the courage and figure out an "off" time, we were bombarded by folks who wanted to know what they should order, etc. We had several very interesting conversations with folks from ALL OVER who came just for this place. Kind of boggled our minds actually. I mean, we love it, but really it is home-style cooking in an urban area (was rare at the onset) and very convenient for us due to traffic patterns/location. The prices went up due to the exposure and crowds and certain favorite meals changed in presentation and/or side dishes that came with it. We stopped going for awhile. Then our house flooded and we had to eat out for 9 weeks during renovations and this place got a lot of our insurance money Then we discovered restaurant.com and the servers are really great here and so on. We go once every 2-4 months now.
