Pos OPK today, willl Friday be too late to BD?

I was planning on waiting until September to ttc again (tried for 3 months last year, no luck) but I think im going to try this month anyway.

So I've been doing OPK's and today's was positive I think..It's so hard to tell with these internet cheap OPKs...only one side part of the test goes dark, so it's not much to look at to be able to tell if it is as dark as the control line. ugh.

So if it is positive today, that means I should Ovulate in 24-48 hours right? So Friday shouldn't be too late should it? Even if I ovulate within 24 hours, the egg is still viable for 24 hours, so I should still have a shot if I inseminate on Friday, yes?

samy- without seeing it, i would guess the opk is almost positive, because actually, the ic's i've used (wondfo's and another brand that has a pink handle) have worked great- when it really was pos, there was no mistaking it. lh is metabolized, supposedly, in the moring, and ends up in your urine probably between 10 am and 8 pm in the highest concentrations. is it earlier than that where you are? in any case, if it is almost positive, my guess is that it will be positive in maybe 6 hours or so, but could be tomorrow- are you going to check it again? i like to check 2-3 times a day when it's close, so i dont miss it. do all your other signs line up? ok, so that said, if it is really positive today, you will probably o in the next 12-48 hours, with 36 being average, so your timing should be perfect.

I test with FMU at 7am. And I only test once a day. Maybe I should test more around O time?

I'm really finding it difficult to judge these OPK's though...I have the cheap ones from the internt I ordered about 30 of them and have been using them for several months. I know other OPKs the test line has to ALL be pink/darker than control line or as dark...but with the cheap stick ones apparantly only one side edge has to be like that...but it's really hard to see it and judge the color.

If my temp hasn't gone up tomorrow, then I shouldn't have O'd yet. However it did go up a few .degrees today for some reason which is kind of unusual unless I've O'd yesterday...which isn't possible since I got negative OPKs yesterday and the day before.

Oh why does this stuff have to be so confusing? Would I be better off with a real Ovulation test kit thingy?

you are right. it can be confusing. here's my thoughts on what's happening with you.

one thing- (except i think for the clear blue system is it?) you arent supposed to check opks with fmu. this could be a big part of the problem for you. with ic's you are not supposed to check before 10am, and they say the best time, if you are going to only test once a day, is around 2 pm. but yes, around o, i would definitley check more than once a day, because for many women, the surge does not last a full 24 hours, and if you are only testing once, you can very well miss it.

re: the temp- a lot of charts dip before o, mine always goes up a little bit the day or two before i o, just a little.
