best material for a stretchy wrap baby carrier

I know it is super easy to make one rather than buying a moby/sleepy wrap, I'm just looking for fabric suggestions . I'm leaning towards either a bamboo french terry or jersey, but this is totally based on what others have told me and I'm not sure which would actually work the best. And if I go with a jersey, do I want one with spandex or just straight cotton/bamboo? TIA!

It really depends how stretchy you want it to be. I think the moby is just cotton jersey, but a friend and i were at the fabric shop the other day looking for this same type material and there were several with a little lycra that would have worked fine. I don't think you can go wrong really, as the adjustability of the moby is that you tie it on anyway.

Yup, cotton jersey is the way to go. I found lightweight cotton jersey and heavy weight cotton jersey and I liked the lightweight for warmer days and heavy weight was great for winter.
