are they totally necessary the first few days? How much do they wet at a time? i thought I read a few tablespoons? is that right?
I got about 10 covers from freecycle a long while ago, before we were even pg. upon close evaluation and after washing once, probably only about 5 are really in good enough shape to be reliable, and the other 5 are in various states from servicable in a desperate situation to downright unusable.
i bet some of my home made NB dipes would hold it all without a cover... they are really really thick. am i nuts?
could I see which of the 5 we have work and then order some more online and hope we get them within a week or so?
we have a couple litewraps, a cot'n wrap, and a niji wool. (that I have to learn how to wash and re-lanolize...)
shoudl we be good, or do I need more covers?I know NB poos can be explosive!

The newborns give a great fit at first, but they only last for so long (so that's why I don't buy a lot). I can and do start using the size small covers right away too, they're just not as nice a fit as the newborn ones are when baby is still tiny and new.
