Sugar Baby Watermelon - please diagnose

Anyone grow baby watermelon? Does it need lots of sunshine and heat? I have two little starter plants in one large pot with a trellis. The plants and pot and trellis were chosen by experienced gardener, not me. I potted them over the weekend (less than 24 hours after purchasing). One plant is thriving, the other is cupping its leaves. What is it begging for????????

I've been watering every day until water flows/trickles out of the container. Then, I wait awhile (5-20 minutes) and water again until water flows/trickles out of the container. This was explained to me in a veggie gardening class (container gardening specifically). I was planning to keep up the daily watering for a full week for all the new plants and two we are trying to revive. I plan to water every other day for the established herbs and veggies. I hardly ever water the non-edible plants.

Right now, the watermelon pot is in FULL SUN all day long. Our weather has been sunny and cool since planting (high of 69/70 for the most part). It will get a lot hotter July through October. I could move it to a variety of different locations for a little less sun, but ultimately our entire tiny backyard gets a lot of sun all summer long and it gets hot back there due to the walls and fence and concrete.

I forgot to feed the new plants when I potted them this weekend. I did feed the blueberry bush its own special fertilizer. I fed the watermelon and other plants the high nitrogen fertilizer today.

Any ideas??? Thanks!!!

An update in case others have issues and are looking for info.....

I decided to water every day for awhile longer. (I missed yesterday, though, due to an early, busy day.) The temps this week have been a few degrees warmer (mid-70s) and sunny. I didn't move the baby watermelon plants. The healthier of the two plants is really taking off and is about to start climbing the trellis. The "baby" plant has stopped cupping its leaves and is growing more slowly. It seems to take a lot more water in order to trickle out of this container than my other plants, so maybe watermelons just need MORE water.

Lol, I was going to suggest less water! Mine seem to be getting to much resulting in a O2 choke in the soil.

Hope you get some fruits! I try every year and lose them to rot or animals.

Here are some pictures:

5/24/2010 - One or two days after planting.

5/31/2010 - This illustrates my concern.

6/7/2010 - Today and I am no longer concerned at all.
