Strollers: Bumbleride Indie or BOB Revolution?

Okay, so I've done the search and read the old posts. I know these two strollers have been compared before, but I feel like I still want to know more.

I have an online store gift card and I want to get a stroller (mostly because there is nothing else at the store that I still need or think I would use). I can't physically go to the store to see the two strollers, so my opinion thus far is based on pictures and reviews. So far I like the Bumbleride Indie a bit better than the BOB Revolution.

Am I crazy? Is the BOB way better? Please tell me?

I like the Indie better because:
1. I think it looks more streamlined and less huge and intimidating.
2. Baby's feet don't have to rest together in a small foot rest. She can move her legs more?
3. I've read that the suspension is cushier.
4. The sunshade (in the 2010 model) is longer.

I like the BOB because:
1. Baby sits further up and inside the stroller and would be more "protected" from drooly dogs, etc.
2. There is a foot rest that she can push down on if she feels like it, even if it would require both of her feet to be together.
3. It's about $100 cheaper.

Help?

The Indie comes with the airpump, the cupholder, and the rain protection; all things you'd have to pay extra for the Bob.

However, the Bob can hold more weight. However, 45lbs sounds like a lot at the moment.

We got the Indie as a present and go running with it several times a week - it's great! We tried both in a store and prefered the Indie over the Bob.

I didn't compare the BOB with the Indie that you are referring to, but I have a BOB and LOVE it. It is my umpteenth stroller, for my third child, and if I would have found it the first time around I could have saved myself a lot of money and headache. You can get a bunch of accessories to go with it (none of which I have felt any need to get), and they are all cheaper if you get them online. Good lick with your decision. I'd buy another BOB in a heartbeat. Well worth the money.

BOB! Much better quality.

I haven't seent he Bumbleride, but I have a Bob Revolution and yes, it's kind of bulky but it is absolutely solid and sturdy. The sunshade seems huge to me and I think it might actually hold up to 55lbs.

Never tried the Indie but I have a BOB and love it! Best stroller I ever had.

My BOB got a lot of use. Loved it. And will be using it again in a few months for my little one.

Concerning the 45 pound, it was useful for us - when my son was 5 / 6, he loved getting in his pjs, grabbing a blanket and cozying up in the BOB for a late night push around the neighbourhood while I walked the dog.

My son thought the chicco umbrella stroller was more comfortable though.

I love the BOB. My sister has one and I wish that is what I had bought instead of the Valco I purchased.

OMG, that is so cute!

Just to clarify, the bob can handle up to 70lbs, the Indie "only" 45lbs.

Can anyone give me an idea what age those weights correlate to, roughly?

Of course it depends on the child, but 45lbs would easily be a 5, even 6 year old.

I had a single BOB and went with the Bumbleride. I don't like how on the double BOB you have to have the infant adapter bar go across both seats. The side for the older child it should be for the snack tray but we never used our snack tray on the single BOB because it sits up so high and blocks the view of the toddler in the seat. Also, about the seats in the BOB - they sit so far back my guy had to be taken out of the stroller at the zoo to see anything. The Indie seats are much more upright and they can see things from the stroller. They both are bulky and weigh about the same so they will both be cumbersome when lifting them in and out of a car. Also, the Bumbleride has more room. My toddler is in the 95 percentile for height and he has at least two inches left until he reaches the top of the seat in the Indie but in the BOB his head was already grazing the top of the seat. If you look at www.babygizmo.com or go on YouTube and search for the stroller there are usually user video reviews. That's how we decided on the Indie stroller after seeing those videos.

Good luck!

My son was 6yrs before he out grew the BOB. I am sure he could still fit in it now (7yrs), but his legs are too long to get comfortable. He is a lean, smallish fellow.

I wish I had a photo...but when my son was 3ish and I would walk our pug, the pug would get tired and jump into the stroller and sit on the foot rest, while my son was in the seat. It amused a lot of people! (pug=20 pounds; 3 year old = 30+ lbs)

Since this isn't going to address either of the strollers you are asking about feel free to ignore! Our Bumbleride Queen B arrived a few days ago and we love it! We went with the Queen B over the double Indie because we liked toddler seat option of the Queen B. The sunshade is huge and the shocks/support is great.

I think this is an old post, but I wanted to mention that I considered both of these strollers, and ended up going with a Baby Jogger City Elite instead. I felt it had some of the great features of both. I love this stroller, it's been exactly what I hoped for! The only thing I don't love is the basket underneath is somewhat hard to access (but I think the Bob is also a pain to get into). Otherwise, it's really an awesome stroller! So another option to consider...

We have a BOB and used it a ton with my DS. It was great for our country roads and could so easily handle snow or even a trip to the beach. That said, I'm not sure I'd buy another one. I think the seat is not nearly supportive enough and far too reclined (even fully upright). I was alway lining it with blankets etc. to try to make it more comfortable. I also agree with the PP that mentioned the low height. My kid is pretty average in height (with a kinda long torso) but his head was always brushing the top of the sunshade when it was closed. It was irritating since he was only about 2 (and only beginning to fit okay in the seat itself).
