Just curious if someone can give me an average?

Does the placenta pulse post birth? I thought it was the umbilical cord pulsing that most watched (as some kind of sign for when to cut).

I've heard the cord can pulse for up to an hour!!

DD2's cord stopped pulsing right before I delivered the placenta, about fifteen minutes after she was born.

It stops pulsing in the middle and up towards the placenta when the placenta starts to detach from the uterus.

It can continue to pulse close to the baby for a long time! I've seen it pulse by baby for about an hour and a half!

I usually cut it after the placenta is born.

This isn't going to really help, but my placenta detached 8 minutes after dd's birth, so I'd assume it has stopped pulsing by then. We had cut the cord shortly before that, after she was breathing well on her own.
