Can I Vent? - Page 2

That's really too bad. And it was stories that kept me (im)patiently waiting for my third until 42+5. And, yes, at that point...she was FAR less inconvenient on the outside. The phone calls, the waiting, the midwife visits every couple of days...I was SO happy to just have a newborn already!

I KNOW!!! I am right there with ya, Mama! I have a friend from high school who was induced at 39 weeks just a couple weeks ago. I kept saying "As a first time mom, you have a 1 in 3 chance of c-section if you are induced!!!" and all her friends I don't know would get on there and be all "Don't let anyone tell you what to do for your baby! You know your body best!". So I PMed her and told her that it really increases the risk. (They told her the baby was "too big" )

Needless to say, she had a c-section and is now groaning over how to heal from it. She "had no idea" it would be this painful and difficult. I give her pointers and tell her things to avoid, and she says she is really disappointed in the c-section. It's just like ... why wouldn't you listen to someone who has HAD three c-sections for no reason??? I mean, I've been there! I was the induced first-time mom who ended up put to sleep for a c-section! So frustrating!!!

The unnecessary induction drives me MAD! And it happens ALL THE TIME here!

Just this week a friend wrote "I hope I make it another night so I don't miss _____ tomorrow!" and after she attended the event schedule the induction for two days later!

It drives me crazy that these women think nothing of it! That their doctors provide that 'service' for them!
