Researchers at Marshfield Clinic have received a three-year award of over $700,000 from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (C.D.C.) to study the effectiveness and possible adverse events from a third dose of the Measles-Mumps-Rubella (M.M.R.) vaccine.

mumps outbreaks have always occurred in vaccinated individuals, suggesting that the mumps portion of the vax is simply ineffective.

In a few years it will be a 4th dose and so on. Give me a break.

I personally would rather have mumps at age nine-ten-eleven than keep getting the boosters...

When the measles vaccine was first marketed, the ad poster said,

"One shot for life!" Where is the science in that statement?

Do ob/gyns keep up their rubella boosters? Ask yours. They are the ones around pregnant women all day long.

What we really need is a nice all-in-one adult booster, MMRVDTaP that we can all get once a decade. They just need to market it so that we remember to go in when we start each new decade.

I will do that when I KNOW that ob/gyns are in line in front of me for that new fangled vaccine.

Until then, I am staying the heck out of line.

I wonder when they'll give a thought to the idea that maybe the mumps has mutated so what they are vaxing for is not even the same strain that is occurring in young people.

Though that can/will happen with any disease over time and isn't it more profitable to blame outbreaks on the non-vax'd than to spend money to create a new vax for the right strain then try to get everyone to get another shot, having to admit the first one was wrong?
