just about done nursing, for good

Hi,
I have 3 kids, 6, 4 and little over 2. I nursed all for a little over 2 yrs. And I'm just about done with my littlest guy. We don't want to have any more kids. I am so blessed, nursing has always been wonderful and though I would have LOVED to have what it takes to nurse for 4 or 5 years, I feel lucky enough that the 2 yrs with each child was so amazing and wonderful.

My question is, for those who are realizing you will be done for good, did you pump out and freeze some extra bags? Do you think that would come in handy, for say maybe a future bout with pink eye, a nasty cut, etc? I guess over the years I've relied on breastmilk for a multitude of things!, and I'm a little afraid to not have any on hand! How long again does frozen milk last? Did any of you moms who weaned for good, use extra milk stored for anything?

Thanks. Sniff, I'm equally sad, as well as happy.

I actually wished that I had after my 2nd weaned and I thought we were done. Now I have another and want to save some back for things such as ear infections burns, the stuff is miracle fluid, lol.... but I don't have a pump now. Anyway sounds like a good idea!

Honestly I wouldn't expect frozen bm to have any sort of healing effect when applied topically. The live white blood cells in the milk wouldn't survive the freezing.

That said, I haven't tried using frozen milk on injuries so I'm not speaking from experience.
