Seriously, my cervix cannot be found. I have freakishly short fingers so I wasn't too surprised when I couldn't feel it (I was having a minor freak-out last weekend and felt the uncontrollable urge to make sure I wasn't dilating already), but I even made DH try (yeah, he was thrilled, but humored the emotional pregnant lady) and he couldn't find it, either. I'm always reading about women who are checking their dilation or cervical position, even before they're pregnant, and I'm starting to wonder if it's just me.

lol... our cervixes are in different positions at different times... right now your babys head probably isnt engaged yet so your cervix will be VERY high. Plus, it will be extremely squishy like the rest of the vaginal walls so if you didnt look for it pre-pregnancy theres pretty much no way I imagine you could tell the difference now! (if I didnt chart CP i wouldnt recognize mine either)
during our cycles, pre-pregnancy our cervix changes. When most fertile it nearly disappears for some women (such as me) from going so high up and getting so soft... plus it opens up. I can never reach it at that point (even with long fingers!) to know what open feels like to me. I would always just assume if it was so high I couldnt feel it, it was open.
then later on in the cycle, after ovulation happens it lowers some and firms up... then just before my af starts it would get really low and really firm. Icky, but I would feel it when changing my cup.
A comparison, in feeling, between fertile/pregnant and infertile/about to get AF is like the difference between touching your lip... and touching the tip of your nose. It really does go from that soft (or softer, or maybe I just have firm lips?) to that firm!
But in any case, dont worry about doing a cervical check yourself if you dont really know what you are doing/looking for. Your risk of accidentally harming yourself is pretty high!
