How to get the sperm in further? Or keep them inside?

Are there any ways to help give the spermies a better chance? Does it help if they are ejaculated deeper inside the vagina than closer to the entrance? And as soon as it's over and "out" all the spermies and stuff seems to just fall straight back out

Do you continue to lay there or get up right away?

With my traditional surrogacies I used an instead cup after inseminations..

I would pop an instead cup in after sex.

I also have a leakage problem.

Even if I lie around for awhile with my knees up, everything still leaks out. I hold a paper towel over the area to contain any mess. As soon as I stand up, I hear (tmi, sorry) it gurgling all out into the paper towel.

BUT I'm right now in the fertile part of my cycle, and hardly anything is leaking out (just a few tiny spots on the paper towel). Perhaps because my cervix is more open? I still wait around and marinate for a few minutes before standing, though.

Are you in the fertile part of your cycle?

What's leaking out isn't the sperm... The sperm swims up. There has to be something for the sperm to 'live' in and that's what leaks out... Some of the sperm doesn't swim up, but it doesn't all just leak back out...

HTH!

This cycle (i got pregnant in) was the first I noticed NOT leaking, even with laying around after all the others I would still leak. I didn't do anything different... and I have actually seen a lot of other women say that they KNEW they got their timing right by the lack of leaking! for ya

Thanks. I'm on the 9th straight day of fertile CM, so I hope my body decides to ovulate soon and then get pregnant.

yes. I inseminated today, but didn't lay down afterwards...I got straight up and walked around.

I tried laying down several times before when I was ttc last year, but there was still lots of leaking once I got up.

Again today, lots of leakage....d'oh!

an instead cup? Maybe I can try that next time.

I officially looked back and it was the 3 dtd leading up to O that I didnt feel any leakage in

and if you are inseminating, rather than DTD, its even MORE important for you to get an instead cup to help keep them up there!

earlier in the thread I was talking about not feeling leaking this cycle (where I actually conceived) and was mentioning it was all three DTD leading up to O that that happened (twice 2 days before O and once the day before...)

Oddly, Ive seen a lot of women say the month they finally conceived that they also had the same experience (and a lot of women who didnt too... though it seems to be a really good sign if it happens, the lack of it doesnt mean you arent pregnant!)

I agree that I leak less when in super fertile, the cervix is high and it seems to leave room for more of a pool up there.

But mostly I would say that as long as you lay down for a few minutes, I would not worry what leaks out, plenty stays in. The sperm itself are in a more gelatin like portion of the semen and that does not go liquid till 15-20 min after ejaculation, once it does it has done it's job and leaking out is not an issue from what I understand.

The fast good sperm will have made it thru the cervix by then

I would stay lying down with a pillow under my bottom for about 15-20 minutes. Try to keep your kegal muscles clenched as well. Good luck!

I did an insem yesterday. I lay down for a second, and not for longer. I had an instead cup, but hesitated about using it,...what if i actually block the sperm from getting in?
I put it in anyway. I had no leakage whatsoever, so im guessing whatever i put in there, got on the right side on the instead cup. When i took it out that night, it was full of fluid, which was probably semen,(not much cm though...uh oh) so i am thinking, did any of it actually go in?

Then i freaked out, because i didnt have any cervical mucus left, and thought, uh oh, how are they going to survive until the egg comes?
Next morning, tonnes of cm...sigh of relief, but....what if it all falls out with the cervical mucus? Isnt that where the spermies are living now, if they even made it in there?

I wanted to try to experiment...get up and see if there's any leakage, but didnt dare.
I inseminated on the 2nd day of cm, i usually have it for 3 days and then O. So i am hoping i O today (did insem yesterday) I didnt bother with the opk this time, because last 2 cycles i am sure imissed the egg, because i left it too late. I O'd 6 hours are positive opk. Not enough time when youre working with a donor!

When I worked in infertility, it was recommended to lay down for about 20 minutes if possible after sex or insemination. What leaks out is mostly just semen and some of your fluids. I would try to have ejaculation happen close to the cervix, and if he could stay in you for a minute or more, it might help as well.
