Can anyone tell me how to make this?

We had a simliar quilt when I was little. Everyone I try to describe it to says, "Oh, that sounds like a cathedral window pattern." But, it's more like a reverse cathedral window. I found this google image today. Can anyone tell me how to replicate it?

okay. i see you still haven't gotten any replies. i looked at it again, and i swear that doesn't look folded to me. or even if it is, you could make something look like that just with appliqueing the print pieces (looks like perfect for using fusible web) on white squares and then echo quilting around them.

You can see the color faintly under the white. Which tells me that the each square has a full square of the color tucked inside. Probably 1/4 of a fat quarter if that size is reasonable for a quilt square.

On a close look (ctrl+scroll button) it looks like the white is individual white triangles sewn together at the outer corners. Thus, creating a white square with a large X in the middle. Then the center points of the triangles (the right angles) are tacked to the middle, and a curve is folded in from that point to the seams joining the triangles into a square.

Aside from along the curved folded edges of the white triangles, there is no quilting.

Any way, that's what's happening with it, someone who actually knows about quilting could help you with proportions.

Oh, and I can't decide if the inner edge of the curves (the folded edges touching the color) are sewn down to the color. My inclination, especially given the look of the black and white checked quilt squares, is to say they're just ironed and there are little flappy bits, but you can play with that and decide which way you like best and which makes more sense from a quilters perspective.
