Perhaps the 23 letters excoriating them published in their journal?

Now we can nail them to the wall on the hypocrisy of MGM.

Looks like they chickened out on taking a position that at least was more consistent than their past positions.

I would like to see them condomn ALL medically unnecessary genital cutting of children, but I don't like to see different sets of standards for the two genders.

yay! I know I wrote to people and signed petitions, maybe that helped because a lot of us responded.

Let's hope this does not become an issue again. Ever.

They have still not retracted the change from FGM to FGC and they still a group of hypocrites that are violating the Hippocratic oath by still continuing to push, promote and allow their members to preform MGM. They continue to line their pockets by cutting boys genitals and refuse to do their jobs to protect those boys from their members that continue to profit from MGM.

I don’t think they deserve applause for this decision. That would be like me saying I was going to hurt someone and have changed my mind – you could breath a huge sigh of relief, but in no way does that warrant a round of applause for my choice to not do harm to someone. We shouldn't feel obligated to be thaknkful when people choose not to do a wrong thing.

When the AAP stands up for what is right, and stops the cutting of baby boys genitals in the country, I just might give them a small clap. A round of applause won’t be warranted because the obvious should have been done a very very long time ago.
