Should I save them to sell? Or just get rid of them??

So, twice a year around here, theres a big local kids sale where you can take your clothes and sell them at (you price them, and get 75% of your sales -$5 selling fee), along with toys, strollers, mat clothes, etc. For the past few years, I've been saving our clothes and reselling them there... but I now have a freaking closet full of outgrown clothes and I really just want to get rid of them!!

MY other option is to take them up to the local kids resale shop and sell them to them - wouldn't be quite as much money, but it'd be some anyhow.

So, I'm wondering, what would you do? I'm reallly tempted right now to just go through everything and take all of it up there and sell it to them, just to be rid of it... I'm sick of having the boys' closet literally STUFFED full of old clothes!!

I just faced this dilemma yesterday. Except I was trying to decide between saving for the fall consignment sale and just donating to Goodwill (and getting the tax benefit). I ended up doing some of each. I donated the more summery and casual outfits, and stored the wintery and more-likely-to-sell-for-bigger-bucks items for the consignment sale.

Since my DD's clothes that I wanted to keep for the sale were mostly small enough, I rubber banded the hangers and pulled large garbage bags over groups of them, closed it tight, and put the bagged items in the attic.

You know though, the nice clean look to her closet is such that if I didn't have an attic, I think getting everything out of the house now would have been worth the loss of potential money to me.

I would probably sell them now even if it's less money. If it's bothering you.

Why not take it up to the resale shoppe now, take what you can get $-wise and what they dont buy, keep until the fall thingy?

I usually make a resale run every couple months. They never buy everything I have so I've learned to 'play the game' and eventually everything gets bought LOL.

And if this stuff is bothering you I'd say out with it - as much and as early as possible.
