IGT Mamas-Colostrum question

Hi there Mamas!

I have IGT and am almost 33 weeks pg with #4. I nursed all of my other three kiddos to give them as much BM as I could. I have noticed that I can maybe sometimes get a drop or two of colostrum out by hand expression while pg, but AS SOON as baby is born the colostrum is gone and the milk is there. I'm talking, the FIRST feeding there is all the sudden white milk instead of the clear colostrum. Does anyone else have this? Is this just something that goes along with IGT?

On a fun sidenote-at around 20 weeks pg with this kiddo I was suddenly LEAKING colostrum!!!! I have NEVER done that before! It lasted for a few weeks and then stopped. I have no idea why it stopped-or why it started, for that matter-but it was so fun!

I also have IGT and am 3 weeks pp with my 1st babe. I was able to squeeze a few drops of colostrum from my breast around 7 mo prego and seemed to maintain this small amount for about 3 days after giving birth... So im not sure if that is common or not...

On another note, you say you nursed your kids, I was curious how much milk you were producing, were you also supplementing? And did you supply increase as your kids become older and more efficient suckers?

I am a first time mom and didnt know I had IGT until my babe was hospitalized due to dehydration 5 days pp. Scary. Now im taking an herbal concoction and pumping trying to increase my supply, but using SNS, supplementing with natures one formula...
