How long is diaper cream good?

Does anyone know how long diaper cream is good? Does it expire or get contaminated after so long?

DD has been potty trained for just under a year and I have a lot of left over diaper cream. Would there be a problem saving it to use for baby due in Oct.?
Some of them will be almost 3years old by the time my pumpkin arrives.

What type of diaper cream? The petroleum-based ones definitely don't go bad, the lanolin-based ones shouldn't go bad. Some of the herbal ones might, it depends on the carrier oil, but it's more likely that they'd just lose strength and not have as much healing properties as before.

If it looks and smells like you remember, it's still good.

I used a zinc based no-name brand cream on occasion that had expired seven years prior. Nobody's bum fell off.
